More Idiot Drivers
As you know, I've got a pet-peeve against people driving while distracted. You heard me rant about what I've observed... from talking on cell phones, to reading newspapers, to even licking and stamping envelopes while driving an automobile. Today I didn't see something new, I saw something different.

This morning I got cut off turning left onto Rte. 4 from Rte. 58 (that's by the Christiana Hospital for you non-DE folks). Anyway, this driver decided to combine 2 distractions. While using his shoulder to hold the cell phone against his ear, he was sealing envelopes!!! No wonder with both hands and an arm busy, he couldn't control his car and keep it out of my lane.

Let it be known, the next time I leave my car a the dealer for service and they give me a rental, I will spend the $15 dollars for extra insurance and let one of these losers tear up the rental car. Maybe higher insurance premiums after their insurance company settles with the rental car people will get the point across... When you're behind the wheel of a car, you should be focused on driving, nothing else!

That's a Lot of Nature
I always use to tease my friend Raph about the nature around his house. You see, Raph grew up in the city and then moved to the 'burbs when he got married. He would tell me about all the furry little creatures running around his yard and all the things flying around. Basically, he wasn't used to all this nature.

Now I find myself in a similar situation. While I've lived in the 'burbs for the past 15 years, there was a lot of concrete. Sure we'd have some squirrels and some robins but that was about it. The house we moved into in December has a lot more vegetation around it which means... more nature.

On any given day we'll see squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and other furry little creatures. This afternoon, we saw everything all at once. 4 rabbits chasing each other around the yard. 2 chipmunks flirting. Squirrels coming down from their nest in our tree. Surprisingly, they all seemed to get along with each other.

Meanwhile, Max was having a fit. He wanted to chase the intruders from his yard but we kept him on the back deck. It was way too relaxing sitting there smoking a cigar and watching nature having fun.
