A New Job
Jimmy starts his new job tomorrow. He took his experience as a cashier at the swiming pool and used it to land a position at Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. What is absolutely amazing is that dollar stores aren't always Mom-n-Pop shops like I though. There are actually corporations that make this their business.

Dollar Tree actually has this in their mission statement... Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is a customer-oriented, value-driven variety store, operating at a one-dollar price point. A mission statement for a dollar store... who would have thought.

Anyway, I'm reading through Jimmy's employee hand book (hey CTM, even the dollar stores have hand books, why can't you) and I'm learning this place is a real company. Benefits, paid days off, sexual harassment policies, the whole ball of wax.

All in all, I think this is a good deal for him. I hope he likes the job, only time will tell.

Congrats Jimmy!! Good luck with the possition, the second in many you will have in your life!
Dave, Dollar Tree and Dollar General are the Walmarts of many a small town in PA and I am sure other states. If you ever take a ride across rual PA you will find a Dollar tree or Dollar General in almost EVERY town with more than 6 houses.. maybe no gas station, but a dollar store.. but these are not like the ones around here, they are more of a CVS ...

    Way to go, Jim!

Now for the serious question: What kind of family discount do you get? Really, they should call it the $20 store. I never get out of those places for less... haha. ~M.
