Thanks Dude
Well my buddy Bill sent me an email today. He tells me that some performance enhancements I had spec'd out at my previous job were finally coded and tested. According to Bill, the program now screams. Its good to know that some of the things I did there were actually useful.

A week or so ago Bill sent me an email thanking me for teaching him some interesting tricks of the trade when we worked on RAMM. The extra time we spent upfront saved a boat-load of time when he made some enhancements last week. I'm glad I was able to teach Bill how to engineer software instead of just coding programs. And most important, thank you Bill for having the patience and open mind to put up with me and my nuances.

Now it's payback time! Many years ago my friend Leonard passed on to me a lot of programming knowledge. I've passed a lot of that knowledge on to you. Now it's your turn to pass it on to someone else... maybe not now, but sometime in the future. That's how its done, so please pass it on.

Ha! Better said than done in THIS environment! You remember the screaming that happened when we tried to teach Pete the coding standards we implimented for our little project! I just had an open mind and took Socrates' advice:

"If you know anything, know that you know nothing"

I do try my best to soak up the knowledge though.
